What is IoT?
IoT is a phrase that quite simple means internet-of-things. By ‘things’ we mean a wide range of objects such as light bulbs, toasters, toilet roll dispensers and environmental sensors. These ‘things’ send and receive data via the internet to other ‘things’ connected to the internet.
What do Jamtech IoT do?
At Jamtech we connect the ‘things’ to the internet so that they can be monitored and in some cases controlled. This can be anything from toilet roll dispencers to commercial green houses to gas pipe lines. The underlying driving force behind wanting to do this, is to save costs.
Benefits to product manufactures:
- Added product USP
- Added product value
- Field product evaluation
Benefits to end customers:
- Lower operating costs
- Better management of consumables
- Evidential product use (or miss use)
Take for example the toilet tissue dispenser, connecting this to the internet provides a remote server with the information to predict when the consumable needs replacing. This allows better management of human resources needed to carry out replenishment of consumables. In this case, as a janitorial service provider, would allow you to better manage staff and therefore improve the operational efficiency of your business.
